SEN Parent Support Group — Mentorship Terms of Engagement
Mentor: Andrea Dixon-Boldy, SEND Parent Mentor
Service Type: Mentorship only not statutory advocacy, representation, or tribunal presence.
Confidentiality & Purpose
- All support offered under this engagement is for personal mentorship and informal guidance only.
- This is a non-statutory, peer-support model, rooted in shared lived experience, strategic insight, and practical navigation tools rooted in SEND Law Training and personal lived experience of 15+ years.
- Files shared, conversations held, or examples given remain confidential and should not be copied or circulated externally. All support is given based on the information provided to me at the time.
- GPDR files shared with you on our statement and policy cover all of our remit based on handling delicate information.
- All information is digitally destroyed having engaged unless otherwise communicated in writing from yourself to retain.
- If no further support undertaken all information will be digitally destroyed within a 6month timeline.
Scope of Support
The mentorship offers:
- Guidance on how to approach SEND systems from a parent’s perspective
- Review of documents for readability, clarity and strategic tone
- Emotional support to build resilience and confidence
- Sharing of proven tactics, templates, and insight to help parents advocate independently
- EHCP Draft Reviews
- Report Reviews
- Working Document Support / Review / Redraft
What this is not:
- Legal representation or statutory challenge formulation
- Tribunal preparation or direct intervention with schools or LAs
- Creation of documentation intended for use in formal proceedings
Clear Positioning
This mentorship is not advocacy, and does not replace formal support such as legal services, mediation advisors, or tribunal reps.
Andrea’s role is to mentor you, empower your independent voice, and signpost you to reliable resources if your case requires specialist input.
You remain the named advocate and decision maker for your child. Andrea supports you as a mentor — behind the scenes, helping you feel confident, capable and calm.
Data Handling & Records
- No client records are stored formally under this mentorship arrangement
- Any notes or materials shared are for personal use only, and are not retained by the mentor unless otherwise stated in writing via email.
- If files are co-reviewed, it is in the capacity of parent peer-support, not professional audit or legal scrutiny
- Should you require future support and wish for Andrea to retain your confidential information then you must confirm this in writing.
- All information is digitally destroyed immediately after your allocated slot unless as above otherwise requested.

IMPORTANT READ ON 1:1 SUPPORT AND AFTERCARE
Thank you for choosing to access the 1:1 service. It’s a privilege to support your advocacy efforts, and I’m committed to providing legally grounded, parent-led guidance.
💬 Follow-Up After Calls You’re welcome to follow up on submissions shared during your booked 1:1 session. Reassurance and clarification are part of the service—but must remain directly linked to the original advice and limited to simple questions on the subject matter with no more than 2 follow ups per booking.
📄 EHCP Draft Review Clause EHCP Draft Reviews are designed to deliver a robust legal gap analysis of Sections B & F, cross-referenced against submitted reports, with clear SMART amendments, statutory references and strategic recommendations. Once the Draft Review is completed and submitted to you, the document is considered closed. Any additional changes or questions outside of your two follow-ups must be booked as a new session, to ensure time and legal accuracy.
📂 Working Document Clause If I am actively maintaining your Working Document follow-up is expected until hearing submission. After that, further input must be booked unless tribunal hearing prep is ongoing.
📨 Unbooked Email Support I care deeply, but continuous access through email is not scalable. My mental bandwidth and service slots must be protected for all members.
📆 Booking Additional Time Beyond your session and its immediate follow-up x2, any further support must be booked. Even messages that feel minor can require revisiting extensive case history—and SEND law demands precision.
🗓️ NEW: Weekly “Ask Andrea” Thread To ensure fair and continued group access, I’ll be hosting a weekly Ask Andrea slot, where members can post simple questions on a group thread and receive a response. This maintains helpful contact while respecting capacity. Complex queries will be guided toward a booking link.
⚖️ Fair Access & Support Integrity This is a support mentor service, not an open-access legal hotline. What I offer is statutory mentorship within structured boundaries. Setting these ensures quality, care, and reach—for you, for others, and for the mission we share.
