The government has released its SEND Reform White Paper with bold promises, big numbers, and sweeping claims about transforming support for children and young people with SEND. But as always, the headline figures don’t tell families what they actually need to know:
What does this mean in real terms? How will it work? And what will my child’s school actually receive?
To cut through the noise, I’ve broken down each element of the government’s pledge line by line, focussing at this time on the “Inclusion for mainstream” and the “Experts in Hand” fund by reviewing only what is explicitly stated in the White Paper and official government releases. No hearsay, no assumptions, no political spin. Just the facts, the maths, and the practical implications for schools, early years settings, colleges, and, most importantly, for families navigating the SEND system.
This document brings all of that analysis together in one place so parents can clearly see what has been promised, what is missing, and what the reforms will realistically mean on the ground. Download here ⬇️
